A2 PLAYLIST

1.   You may drag & drop single media file or a group of files onto the Playlist area and playing only starts when you double click on a song title.

2.   If you have registered the file types within A2's preference menu, when you double click on any registered files in your folder, A2 will clear your Playlist, add the file to the list and starts playing.

3.   You may press the Search Button, browse to a specific folder name that contains media files, select which types of media files you want to search and A2 will start to search the specific folder and add all the found media files to the playlist. If you have forgotten where you have stored your media files in your hard disc, simply browse to the root of your drive (C:\.....or D:\...etc), select which types of media files you want to search, and A2 will start to search your entire hard disc including all sub-folders, when the whole search is finished, all the media files found will be added to the playlist.

4.    If you see there are files in your list now, you may press the Save Playlist Button to save your list. Playlist will be saved in .A2L format by default and you have an option to save in either .M3U or .PLS format.

5.   If you have previously saved playlists with other players under the extension of .M3U or .PLS, you may drag & drop these types of playlist onto the Playlist area to start playing OR double click your selected playlist from your file folder to start playing.

7.   By attaching a synchronized lyrics file to a media file in the playlist, A2 is able to display synchronized lyrics while the media file is being played. And by attaching photo/video to a media file in the playlist, A2 is able to display the photo/video while the media file is being played. The attachment capabilities combined together seamlessly emulates the popular entertainment known as "Karaoke", instantly turning your PC into a sophisticated Karaoke Machine. Needless to say, if you attach to each of the media files in the playlist with it's related lyrics together with eye catching photos/videos, you are able to create a unique and professional karaoke emulation in your own style. Media File Settings Editor is a unique feature in A2's Playlist which allows setting and saving all the environmental variables of each of the media files in the playlist. (Mixer settings are excluded from this editor and will be saved in the same old way)

The settings criterias are :

..... Set Auto Path or rename the files in any aliases in alphabetical or numerical
      order without actually renaming them in your computer.

..... Timer controls setting time interval between each element of the sequence,
      duration of display time or specify a section of a file to be played.

..... Resolution and other settings of photo/video.

..... Lyrics settings.

..... Background sound/music settings.

..... Setting two rows of lower caption text.

      Attaching lyrics/photo/video to a media file in the playlist is easy :

a.   Highlight the media file in the playlist, attach the lyrics to the file by clicking
      the MEDIA FILE SETTINGS EDITOR BUTTON

b.   While the media file is still highlighted, attach photo/video to the file by
      clicking the MEDIA FILE SETTINGS EDITOR BUTTON.

c.   Save the playlist for the attachments you have made to the media files.

A2 allows you to embed lyrics into MP3, Ogg and Midi. You can edit or make changes to the embedded lyrics by A2's Lyrics Editor. The media file with embedded lyrics is playable by A2 as well as other players but lyrics would only be displayed in A2's Karaoke Emulator.

There are 2 places within A2 where you can embed lyrics into MP3/Midi/Kar :

a.   The first place you can perform the embedding task is by loading both the media file and the lyrics file into A2's Lyrics Editor. The embedding command is under the file menu and is self-explanatory.

b.   Another place is through the Media File Settings Editor in the Playlist. Highlight the media file in question, then click the Media File Settings Editor Button. Under the Lyrics Tab, browse to the lyrics file you want to embed, then click once to enable the embed function. Now press confirm, that's it.

A2 allows photo/video files to be added to the playlist just like audio files, meaning A2 now supports coexistence and playback of mixed media files in one playlist, i.e. Cd Audio Track, Mp3, Midi, Kar, Wav, Vcd, Mpg, Bmp, Jpg and Png all in the same list for multimedia playback, slide show presentation, karaoke emulation or just a personal photo album.

a.   You may drag & drop photo/video files to the playlist or use the playlist buttons to add, remove, search, load, save...etc in the same manner as with audio files.

b.   Use the Media File Settings Editor to tune the settings of the sequence of files in the playlist according to your playback environment, such as background sound.....etc.

c.   By combining the unique features of the playlist and the media file settings editor, you can create a complex or even professional multimedia slide show for a serious presentation or just a personal photo album.

d.   With the Media File Settings Editor, you can create your own Karaoke/MTV/KTV Emulation by assigning Lyrics/photo/video to MP3, Midi and Kar. Please read Karaoke page.

Auto Path is another exclusive feature of the Media File Settings Editor within the Playlist which eliminates the problem of incorrect path when the playlist and media files are placed in another location which is different from the original location when it was saved. As long as the playlist and media files are in the same place, A2 always plays correctly no matter the playback drive is C or Z.  Imagine a CD Drive "E" in your computer is often a "D" or "F" in another computer and Auto Path is extremely useful and vital when you want to distribute your media files in CDROM or any removable storage device.

To create an auto path playlist, simply highlight the media file, click "Auto Path" within the Media File Settings Editor, then save the playlist.

VCD : Simply insert a vcd into your CDROM, then click the CD & VCD Playlist Button. No matter the VCD is a movie or video karaoke songs, A2 automatically creates a playlist for all the playable files in the vcd disc and starts playing from the first video track.

VIDEO FILES : You may load or drag & drop MPG, MPE, DAT or AVI files to either the Main Panel or to the Playlist and play them in the same manner as audio files.

VIDEO NAVIGATION BAR (Video Player) : This is for easy control and navigation while playing VCD or Video files. Right click on the Video Screen brings out an option menu where you can show/hide the Video Player for watching full screen movie/video, show/hide lyrics for video karaoke emulation.....etc
